From the 8th to the 16th, the qualifying rounds took place at Parc Floral de Paris to determine the best teams for the finals. On 21 May, 12,000 spectators attended the final at theAccor Arena Bercy and in total, the event attracted 1.5 million live fans.
We produced all the signage for the two arenas, an intense challenge in an atmosphere worthy of the World Cup finals.
Expectations
Every year, 'Majors' (the equivalent of a World Cup) are held to determine the best team in Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO). The 2023 edition in Paris marked the last event in the CS: GO franchise. The game will evolve into Counter Strike 2, a new advanced version that will change all the strategies of e-sport teams.
To top it all off, it was the French team Vitality who emerged victorious from the tournament, winning a Major for the first time, and on home soil at that! The next Counter Strike event will take place in two years' time, as the organisers are giving pro players a year to adapt to the new features.
For this final CS: GO edition, we produced all the signage at the Parc Floral for the qualifying rounds and at the Accor Arena Bercy for the finals!
For the qualifiers, the bright colours of the event and our prints transformed the Parc Floral into an e-sports arena! In all, more than 300 m² of black-backed fabric were printed by sublimation and fixed to aluminium frames and wooden chassis by our installation teams (stage backdrop, photocall, covering of competition tables). For the floor, 100 m² of carpet was printed and laid in a single day!
For the finals, the decorations in the Accor Arena took on a whole new dimension! We printed all the exterior and interior signage (entrances, shops and corridors). The atmosphere was fantastic and we're proud to have been able to work with Blast on this legendary edition of the Counter Strike Majors!
