Le Fil de la Mémoire
To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the exhibition Au Fil de la Mémoire invites you to relive the founding moments of our history, from the D-Day and the Liberation of France to the Battle of Paris. Designed byICONEM and lit by ETC, this immersive scenography combines technological innovation with the preservation of the stories of the last heroes.
History meets AI, an unprecedented immersion experience
Drawing on the power of artificial intelligence, the exhibition takes visitors on an unprecedented journey through time, paying tribute to the past while building a bridge to future generations.
After the first edition at National Stud Equestrian Centre of Saint-Lô (Manche) in June 2024, followed by a second stop in Saint-Raphaël (Var) in August, Au Fil de la Mémoire ended in the Army Museum in Paris on 18 December.
We are delighted to have contributed to this exceptional project, which celebrates transmission and emotion.
Expectations
The Au Fil De La Mémoire exhibition required the mobilisation of complementary expertise: layout, digital printing on fabric and adhesives, custom carpentry, etc.
The materials we have carefully selected for this immersive exhibition play a key role in creating a unique visual and sensory experience. As well as being an eco-responsible choice, recycled black-back fabric offers perfect opacity and an elegant texture, ideal for highlighting the visuals. The opaque monomeric vinyl and brushed aluminium vinyl add real depth to the set design.
For each edition, certain graphic elements have been subtly adapted to reflect the natural evolution of time and to fit in perfectly with the venues. For example, the colour of the carpet was adjusted to match the ambience of each site, and the prints were revisited with chromatic variations to bring a unique touch to each exhibition. These changes gave a visual dynamic to the exhibition while respecting its essence, illustrating that memory, like time, is in constant transformation.
We met a major technical challenge by installing imposing elements in exceptional sites such as the prestigious Musée de l'Armée - Hôtel National des Invalides. These heritage sites, rich in history, require absolute rigour to accommodate complex scenography while preserving their integrity. The installation of all the woodwork, which is often bulky and delicate, as well as the installation of the carpet rolls on the fragile floors, required highly specialised expertise and pinpoint accuracy. This touring exhibition combines innovation and memory to offer visitors a unique experience.
