On the Napoleonic parquet floor
Our teams worked with the iconic auction house Sotheby's printing and installing the scenic elements for an imperial set around Napoleon Bonaparteat an exceptional auction.
Sotheby's, an exceptional exhibition
This exhibition highlighted a unique collection, patiently built up over more than 40 years by Pierre-Jean Chalençon, bringing together imperial furniture, goldsmiths' work, drawings, porcelain and historical masterpieces tracing the Emperor's journey from his childhood to his exile on the island of Saint Helena.
Expectations
The objective? To create a set that is both unique and technically challenging.
Using a subtle interplay of materials and volumes, we brought this Napoleonic world to life, immersing the spectator in an immersive experience:
- Floor covered with adhesive printed in bayadère stripes
- XXL backdrops (3 x 2 metres), created in three overlapping printed layers on rigid foam, for a striking visual depth effect.
- Steles covered in gold and printed adhesive
- Vitrophanie: a dozen windows covered in translucent adhesives in the exhibition colours
The colour adaptation was carried out with care to highlight the works.
This project showcases the full breadth of our expertise: large-format printing, multi-material cutting and specialised installation to create a unique setting.
