Subtle elegance
Le STATEC (Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg) coordinates the national statistical system and represents Luxembourg internationally.
As part of its move to a new 6-storey buildingSTATEC called on our Space Design teams to design and produce bespoke interior signage.
The aim was to create a solution that blended in perfectly with the site's architecture, while making it easier for the 220 employees and visitors to find their way around the new premises.
Expectations
The challenge was to combine aesthetics, functionality and regulatory compliance, while guaranteeing harmonious, legible and durable signage.
This large-scale project, which took 2 years to complete, called on all our expertise: design, conception, programming to plan, flow study, part design, materials research, costing, manufacture and installation.
Legible, elegant and essential: the key words of this project, and the very essence of signage.
These three principles guided our design for STATEC Luxembourg, with the aim of offering a solution that was functional, harmonious and in perfect harmony with the building's interior architecture.
This approach has been carefully designed to ensure fluid orientation and optimum understanding of the spaces, combining ergonomics and legibility.
Throughout the project, we supported our customer in his choice of materials and architectural integration.
We opted for signage with rounded shapes that evoke both fluidity and the desired upmarket image. Lightweight, elegant wire elements, as well as relief and 3D typography, ensured that the signage blended seamlessly into the space.
We carried out a meticulous search for materials, working piece by piece to guarantee an aesthetically pleasing and perfectly integrated finish. Our choice of materials was guided by a desire to combine refinement and robustness. We chose noble materials such as wood and metal, which provide a sober, elegant look while ensuring optimum durability. This combination of materials gives the signage a discreet yet impactful presence that blends naturally with the building's interior architecture.
Cut vinyl and decorative frosted adhesive glazing enhance the building's cladding, creating a subtle play of light that combines aesthetics and safety.
