Open forum: those who do know!

Each employee possesses unique knowledge and expertise, shaped by its mistakes, its successes, its experiences.

By bringing these experts together in an open forum, we're not just gathering ideas; we're creating a real catalyst for innovation.

The synergy generated by these exchanges far exceeds the sum of the individual contributions, and that's how the magic of 1+1=3 works every time.

So what is the Open Forum?

It's much more than just a meeting method. Created by Harrison Owen in the 1980s, this approach enables participants (from 5 to 2000) toFrom the emergence of the agenda to the convergence of an action plan.

When to organise an Open Forum?

The question is not so much whether there is a right time, but rather how to recognise the signs that indicate that the time is right.it's time to act.

Are you observing any of these indicators?

  • Exploring a central theme : when a problem requires a variety of perspectives and you need access to richer solutions than those offered by an isolated individual. In his book, The Fifth Discipline, sociologist Peter Senge says: " The organisations that learn are those that succeed in creating an environment where collective intelligence can express itself.
  • Creating authentic links: you feel that the energy in your organisation is low, cold or strained. In a setting where authenticity and freedom of exchange are encouraged, participants can make meaningful connections. Brene Brown, a lecturer specialising in the study of courage, points out that " true connection is based on authenticity and the ability to be vulnerable. "
  • Sharing values, a raison d'être and ideas You are a visionary with a desire to think big, and you are aware of the complexity of moving the ship forward alone! This process favours open-mindedness and the constructive confrontation points of view. Clayton Christensen, in The Innovator's Dilemma, explains that ". disruptive innovation happens when companies listen to the voices of customers and employees."
  • (Re)giving meaning :  An open forum is an opportunity to revitalising a joint projectto inject new energy into the business and strengthening commitment. Daniel Pink, in Drive, stresses the importance of intrinsic motivation: ". People are motivated by deeper reasons than simply their pay. They want meaning in their work. "

The open forum then becomes an engine for movement, d'evolution andadaptation. In a constantly changing world, it's not enough to be strong ; you have to be able to anticipate and adjust.

What we like about this process

  • La construction of the generative question with the sponsoring team. This makes it possible to a clear direction while remaining flexible in the face of emerging ideas.
  • global logisticsThis carefully orchestrated sequence makes it easy to get moving for the first time. It allows you to discover the hidden talents in the "team organisation" of your company, often unsuspected.
  • Le emergence time subjects ... Leaving a few moments of silence, a moment suspendedwe offer everyone the freedom to express themselves without pressure.
  • Seeing the wall of the newspaper filled with reporting is an enriching experience. It's a reflection of the the richness of human collaborationa true testament to collective potential.

Our key moments at the Open Forum

  • The market square: The participants define the subjects themselvests discussion around a central theme.
  • The law of two feet: When the first round of discussions gets underway and the smiling participants can choose the workshops of interest to them and move around freely between sessions.
  • Bees: participants who pollinate ideas from workshop to workshop.
  • Butterflies: participants who are interested in a specific subject and stay at the same workshop, or who prefer to rest and chat in the "open café", thus encouraging the exchange of ideas. informal interactions.
  • The prioritisation stage: Participants take time to focus on what would be most useful, desirable and achievable for their organisation by putting their their energy and thoughts in the service of the common projectwithout EGO.

Our key moments at the Open Forum

The moments of exchange, the debate of ideas, the sense of commitment of the people with whom I was able to interact. What looks like a group, despite many divergent opinions, united around common values and projects.
